Did you know: Regular full body massages (at least two to three times a week) will increase energy, revitalize, tone muscles and tissues, promote elasticity and bring a sense of well-being. This is one of my favorite body oils, I learned about it from my teacher at Kripalu. It smells amazing and is great for daily moisturizing or for Abhyanga (see below for steps).
DAILY NOURISHING BODY HERBAL OILS:
Use instead of lotion to moisturize and nourish your skin anytime of the day, after bath or shower. With herbs that contain natural vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and pure essential oils to promote general wellness, soft, smooth skin and radiant beauty.
RELIEF OF ACHES & PAINS: JOINT/MUSCLE/BONE PAIN RELIEF
Use on all acute and chronic areas of discomfort as well as the common occurrence of pulled muscles, cramps or arthritic conditions. Powerful anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and tissue mending herbs and oils provide true relief and renewal.
Ingredients: Over 80 herbs including the most active ingredients: Organic Sesame Oil (sesam indicum), Himalayan cedar (cedrus deodora), Haritaki (terminalia chebula), Spiked ginger-lily (hedychium spicatum), Sesame (sesam indicum), Winter cherry (withania somnifera), Indian gooseberry (phyllanthus emblica), Tumeric (Curcuma long).
ABHYANGA/SELF-MASSAGE WITH TRIDOSHIC OILS:
Step One: Warm oil by using our oil warmer with a candle, a small pot over stove flame or by putting oil in a glass jar in bowl of hot water. Warm only the amount of oil needed for each treatment. Always test oil temperature before using! Warming the oil helps bring out the properties of the herbs. Although warming is recommended, the oil may be used without warming ... beneficial results come from simply applying the oil on your body!
Step Two: Apply the oil to the entire body with gentle massage, long strokes on the arms and legs and circular strokes on the joint area. Starting at the navel, apply clockwise in circular motion spiraling to the outer edge of stomach. Continue to circle counterclockwise on outer edge of stomach only. End by circling clockwise spiraling into the navel. Continue to massage the entire body, focusing on the joint areas. Leave oil on for 10–30 minutes.
Step Three: Follow treatment with shower or bath soak (without using soap) to rinse off oil and pat dry. Hot shower, bath or steam bath opens the pores and allows the herbal oil to go deeper into the cells and tissues.
TRAVEL TIP: To reduce travel fatigue, tension and to ensure a restful evening, apply the oil to the entire body and soak in the bathtub before bedtime.
